IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Semester Exams 2022 via offline mode; Students stage protest
Terming the protest as an act of indiscipline, IIT (ISM) administration took a strong objection to the protest of students and deputed more than 150 security personnel of the institute at the Dharna site.
IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Offline Exams 2022: Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) administration's plan to conduct offline mid-semester exams has irked students. According to media reports, more than 200 students carried out a protest by staging Dharna outside the administrative block of the institute in Dhanbad. The protest started after a discussion held between the students and IIT Dhanbad Director, Rajiv Shekhar failed. The protesters, comprising of B Tech, M Tech, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and PhD students, resorted to Dharna and slogan-shouting after their failed talks.

Terming the protest as an act of indiscipline, IIT (ISM) administration took a strong objection to the protest of students and deputed more than 150 security personnel of the institute at the Dharna site.
According to Telegraph India, IIT (ISM) Director, Rajiv Shekhar while talking to media said, “As the pandemic situation has improved there is no meaning of protesting against the offline exams.”
The administration further claimed that the institute had already informed all the students about the offline exams much ahead, so carrying out a protest at the last minute is illogical.
Meanwhile, students claim that there is no logic behind conducting offline exams when all the classes took place online.
He further cited examples of other IITs like IIT Kharagpur and IIT Patna, saying they are holding online semester exams then the insistence of the IIT (ISM) Dhanbad administration to hold offline exams is incomprehensible.
IIT Kharagpur Exams 2022 via both online and offline mode
Earlier, IIT Kharagpur faced agitation over the institute’s decision to conduct exams via offline mode. Students staging protests outside the institute demanded an open house discussion with the director. After conducting the discussion, the institute has now resorted to a solution. IIT Kharagpur has now decided to conduct exams via both online and offline mode. Students would now have the option to either write exams online or appear for IIT KGP semester exams 2022 via offline mode.
