Under this MoU, NHIDCL and IIT Kanpur will take up various activities of common interest such as sharing of knowledge on innovative ideas and technologies in the field of highway engineering and other infrastructure works as per mutually agreed terms and conditions.

IIT Kanpur, NHIDCL sign MoU

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) have collaborated by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost mutual cooperation in the field of highway engineering and other infrastructure works.

The MoU was signed between Chanchal Kumar, MD, NHIDCL and Professor Abhay Karandikar, Director, IIT, Kanpur, according to an official IIT Kanpur press statement. The MoU provides a formal basis for initiating interaction between NHIDCL and IIT Kanpur and will play a significant role in realizing the aims and objectives of the recently launched PM Gati Shakti - National Master Plan for Multi-modal Connectivity initiative.

Under this MoU, NHIDCL and IIT Kanpur will take up various activities of common interest such as sharing of knowledge on innovative ideas and technologies in the field of highway engineering and other infrastructure works as per mutually agreed terms and conditions.

Both NHIDCL and IIT, Kanpur are leading premier national organizations in their respective fields and have come up to work together as a team to achieve national objectives, undertaken with their best abilities and maximum mutual cooperation, the statement said.

NHIDCL, being the leading Government organization that surveys, establishes, designs, builds, operates, maintains and upgrades National Highways and Strategic Roads including interconnecting roads, has a grasp on the nation's entire web of road infrastructure. On the other hand, IIT Kanpur has an edge over cutting-edge research in various areas of science, engineering, design, management, and humanities, and in taking lead in innovation works across various fields. Both the organizations will leverage their respective expertise to work on road infrastructure and highway engineering projects.
