PhD admissions: IIT Bombay invites applications from foreign students

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has invited applications from international students for admission to PhD programmes in all its departments and research centres for the 2022-23 academic year. The last date to apply for spring semester admission is October 31, 2022. Interested candidates can directly apply at portal.iitb.ac.in/intadm/login. The institute started the registration process on October 4, 2022. 

Candidates have to first log in using their Google sign in. They have to fill an application form by entering their personal details and uploading documents. They are also required to attach their photo, statement of purpose, curriculum vitae, two recommendation letters, document proof to illustrate fluency in English language, copy of passport showing nationality. They also need to enter their academic qualifications, exam details and work details. Candidates should the submit the form after paying the required application fee and save the form for future reference. 

IIT Bombay revamps UG syllabus 

Meanwhile, the institute has revamped its undergraduate curriculum to suit the changing trends. Engineering students at IIT Bombay will now have management, entrepreneurship and design courses along with humanities as part of their regular core engineering curriculum. The non-engineering subjects — humanities, arts, social science, management, entrepreneurship, design (HASMED) — are of great importance in the new course curriculum. This is along with an interdisciplinary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) approach combined with the core engineering subjects of a specific branch that a student is pursuing.
