JEE Main 2022: Five important points about eligibility, registration, exam pattern
Candidates should check JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2022 before applying for the exam. NTA will conduct the exam in two sessions this year in April and May.
The National Testing Agency has released the details about JEE Main 2022 eligibility criteria, exam pattern, registration process and other important details related to the exam on the information brochure. NTA has introduced new changes in the number of attempts, registration process, eligibility and exam pattern of JEE Main 2022. NTA will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination Main in two attempts this year in April and May. Candidates should check and understand these changes before applying for the exam.
JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Only those candidates who have passed class 12 in 2020, 2021 or appearing in 2022 are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2022 exam.

Candidates applying for Paper 1 (BE/BTech) should have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one subject among Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects in class 12

Candidates applying for Paper 2A (Barch) should have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in class 12

Candidates applying for Paper 2B (Bplan) should have Mathematics as a compulsory subject in class 12.

There is no age limit to apply for JEE Main 2022

Criteria of minimum 75 per cent marks in class 12 has been waived for 2022.
JEE Main 2022 Application Process

The application form is available only in online mode on the JEE Main 2022 website.

To apply, candidates need to complete three steps: Registration, Filling form & Uploading scanned documents and Payment of application fee.

Candidates need to upload scanned images of photograph and signature in the form

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL category need to upload the category certificate in the prescribed format in the application form

PwD candidates need to upload the disability certificate in the prescribed format

Candidates not having their category certificate need to upload the βUndertakingβ in the format provided in the information brochure
- No correction facility will be available in filled application form
JEE Main Exam Pattern 2022

NTA has introduced negative marking in βNumerical Value Answerβ type questions. For every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted

In JEE Main Paper 1, questions will be asked from three subjects; Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each subject will have 20 Multiple Choice Questions and 10 questions of Numerical Value Answer (NAV). Out of 10 NAV type questions, candidates have to ask only five questions.

In Paper 2A, a total of 30 questions (20 MCQ and 10 NAV) will be asked from Mathematics, 50 MCQ from General Aptitude and 2 questions from Drawing.

In Paper 2B, a total of 30 questions (20 MCQ and 10 NAV) will be asked from Mathematics, 50 MCQ from General Aptitude and 25 MCQ from Planning.
NTA has started the JEE Main 2022 registration process for the April session exam. Candidates can fill the application form online from the website jeemain.nta.nic.in up to March 31. JEE Main 2022 April exam will be held from April 16 to 21. The registration window for the May attempt will be available from April 8 to May 3 and the exam will be held from May 24 to 29.
