JEE Main 2022: NTA introduces major changes in the exam; check details

It is advised that JEE 2022 aspirants check all the changes brought by the NTA so as to avoid any problems at later stages of the application, exam and admission process.

The National Testing Agency has released the JEE Mains 2022 notification. In a major change, NTA has reduced the number of attempts in JEE Main 2022 to two. Some other changes like negative marking in numerical value type questions and no correction facility in the filled application form have also been introduced.

Candidates applying for JEE Main 2022 should understand all the changes before applying for the exam. NTA has also started the registration process for the first session exam. Application forms are available online on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Check out the new changes in JEE Main 2022 exam.

Changes

Parameters

Less Number of Sessions

Exam will be conducted in two sessions in April and May.

No Application Correction Facility

No correction facility will be given in filled application forms at any stage under any circumstances.

Negative Marking in numerical value questions

There will be Negative Marking for both Section A (MCQ) and Section B (Numerical value).

Increased Number of Test Cities Exam will be held in 501 cities in India and 13 cities outside India.

Choice of Cities

The Choice of exam cities will be displayed to the candidates based on the permanent and Present address filled during registration.

Authentication of Mobile Number and e-mail Address

When Candidates register, they have to enter the OTP received at their registered Mobile Number and before submitting the fees, they have to enter the OTP received at their registered e-mail address.

Increased Time for PwD candidates PwD candidates will be given extra 20 minutes for every section in the exam.

Parents/Guardian Income details

Family Annual Income (inclusive of Father’s/ Guardian’s Gross Annual Income, Mother’s/ Guardian’s Gross Annual Income, and Annual Income of Father’s/ Mother’s/ Guardian’s from other sources, if any) is a mandatory field.

E-mailing the Confirmation page and Scorecard

A copy of the Confirmation Page and final Score Card will be sent to the registered e-mail address of the candidates.

Photograph of the Candidate

A provision has been explored for cross-checking of the photograph in real-time during filling in the Online Application Form.

AADHAR Number

A column/field has been added in the Online Application Form for capturing the AADHAR number of the candidates and it will be on a voluntary basis.

Use of Scribe

Scribe will be provided by the NTA.

Umang and DigiLocker

NTA is facilitating to all candidates with an additional platform of UMANG and DigiLocker to download their documents like Confirmation Page, Admit Card, Score Cards, etc

JEE Mains 2022 Exam Dates

NTA will conduct the first session exam on April 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 while the second session will be held on May 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29Candidates need not necessarily appear in both sessions. In case a candidate appears in both attempts, the score in the best of the two attempts will be used for calculating the final scorecard and the All India Rank.

Regarding the Parents/Guardian Income details,Do we need to include the salary from Private sector?
