All India Democratic Students' Organisation (AIDSO) in the state has requested Karnataka Health and Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar to postpone the final-year medical examinations.

Health Minister Sudhakar

Recently the state president of All India Democratic Students' Organisation (AIDSO) has met Karnataka Health and Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar with the request to postpone final-year medical examinations.

The final year medical students are seeking postponement of the examination that is scheduled to be held in February as the syllabus has not been completed and there is not enough time for students to prepare for the examinations. They had also protested recently to demand the deferment of the examination date.

AIDSO has conducted a survey across Karnataka and submitted its report to the Health Minister that says that nearly 95% of students want the examination to be postponed.

Sudhakar has said, "We are aware of the current situation of the medical students on the upcoming exams. We will hold a discussion regarding the same and will find a solution," as reported by The Hans India.

As per the students, the examination should be ideally conducted in May 2022 as the academic session began in May 2021. There is not much time left to complete the syllabus and prepare for the examination. They said that ideally, medical students must get a complete year to complete the curriculum but due to the pandemic situation, they got only seven months to complete the course.

Also, the students have worked during the second wave of Covid 19 and now working during the ongoing third wave which is only adding to the pressure and stress of students in handling both work and exams together.
