Karnataka schools to grant leaves to students with cold, fever to avert coronavirus epidemic

The Karnataka government has ordered school establishments to grant leave to students and staff suffering from cold or fever. The order has been given taking into consideration the renewed coronavirus (COVID -19) worries. Coronavirus comprises a big family of fatal viruses that have symptoms that range from common cold to severe respiratory diseases that can be fatal. The virus can be spread to both animals and people. There have been a noteworthy number of coronavirus cases in the world. Of late, the virus has entered India.

According to the government circular, if any student, teacher or staff is suffering from respiratory infections, they need to be granted leave. They need to be permitted to come back to school only after getting assured by the doctor that they are treated. In the event of a student or staff staying at hostels developing any symptoms, they should be kept in an isolated room. In the meantime, the state health department is on high alert after a techie working in the city was tested positive for coronavirus in Hyderabad.

In the month of January, the software engineer networked with people from Hong Kong in Dubai and came to Bengaluru around February 20. Doubted of contracting the virus in Dubai, the health officials are observing his colleagues and people in touch with him in the city. Blood samples of 25 people working with the techie have been accumulated. Later, the techie travelled to Hyderabad on a bus from Bengaluru, stimulating establishments to trace and collect the blood samples of 23 fellow passengers on the bus.
