Kashmir School Summer Vacation 2022: The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department is likely to announce summer vacations for winter zones of the Kashmir division from the first week of July, according to a local daily.

Considering the prevailing heatwaves, top officials in the administration said,“In Kashmir region, the department is likely to announce summer vacations for schools in Kashmir valley in the first week of July.”

Jammu Summer Vacation 2022

Earlier in May, the authorities had announced summer vacations for schools situated in the Jammu region for all classes from May 23 and May 30 respectively.

According to KNO, the Director of School Education Jammu in a communiqué had said that in view of the prevailing hot weather conditions, all the government educational Institutions and recognized Private Schools shall observe Summer vacation from May 23 to July 9 up to Class 8 and for students studying in Classes 9-12, the vacation is slated May 30 to July 9.

Kashmiri Pandit Teachers transferred to safe locations

Earlier, The government had released an order to transfer 177 Kashmiri Pandit teachers posted in Srinagar to safer locations following demands to be relocated. The decision came after witnessing an alarming spike in targeted killings in Kashmir.

The decision came a day after the conduct of a high-level meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah chaired. The meeting was conducted to take stock of the security situation in the restive Union Territory in the wake of a string of attacks targeting the Kashmiri Pandit community and migrants workers.

Following the death of Rahul Bhat, who was shot dead by terrorists on May 12 in the Chadoora area of Budgam district in central Kashmir, Kashmiri Pandits employed under the prime minister's special package in 2012, have been staging protests threatening mass exodus.

Bhat's killing sparked protests by around 6,000 employees at various places who demanded their relocation outside the Valley. Since then, the targeted terrorist violence in the Valley has only escalated.
