The government has decided to change Kashmir school timings as the department has predicted the possibility of rain in plains and snow in middle and higher reaches from November 2 to November 6 in the Kashmir region.
Kashmir School New Timings: Amid the changing weather and falling temperature, the School Education Department on October 31, 2022, announced new timing for class work in the Kashmir division with immediate effect from Tuesday. Announcing the decision, an order was issued in this regards by the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Tassaduq Hussain Mir.
Mir said “All the government and recognized private schools of Kashmir Division falling within Municipal limits of Srinagar city shall observe class work from 10am to 3pm while the schools falling outside the Municipal limits of Srinagar shall observe class work 10.30am to 3.30 pm from November-01.”
Pertinently, the meteorological department has forecasted of rain or snowfall and colder days from the first week of November.
The department has predicted the possibility of rain in plains and snow in middle and higher reaches during November 2 to November 6 in the Kashmir region.
Annual school examinations in Kashmir are likely to be shifted to March rather than in October-November, a senior official of Jammu and Kashmir’s education department said as per HT. The proposal to shift the annual examinations has been submitted by the department, according to Director School Education Kashmir Tasaduq Hussain Mir.
Earlier, the government had announced in August that this year that the JKBOSE class 10 and 12 board examinations conducted by the Board of School Education (JKBOSE) in Kashmir will be conducted along with the Jammu division in March instead of October-November in the past. The decision to shift the dates were taken to have a “uniform academic calendar” in sync with “rest of the country”.
