Kerala board has decided to postpone all practical exams of SSLC and plus two classes in view of the spike in COVID-19 cases in the state.

Kerala board has postponed all practical exams of SSLC and Plus two classes. While addressing the media following the COVID-19 review meeting on Thursday, education minister V Sivankutty informed that all the practical exams of SSLC and plus two classes have been postponed.

According to the Kerala education minister, the decision was taken in view of the spike in COVID-19 cases in the state. He also added that class 10 and 12 students need not worry over the public examinations.

The state board has decided to conduct class 10 and 12 practical exams after conducting the written exams in the state. Meanwhile, no changes are expected in the improvement exams in Kerala.

He also informed that the COVID-19 review meeting also decided to strengthen online classes for class 1 to 9 students in the state. Classes for standards 1 to 12 will be conducted online and will be aired via the Victers channel. Attendance will be recorded online. The education minister V Sivankutty also informed that online classes will be organised via G suite platform for class 8 to 12.

Teachers must report the details related to the SSLC and class 12 students to the higher authorities. The teachers have also been instructed to file a report on the vaccination status of students. 80 per cent of students in High Schools were vaccinated till January 25. 60.99 per cent of Higher Secondary students and 66.24 per cent of VHSE students received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, informed the minister.
