Kirori Mal College, DU introduces online certificate course on disability research
Students interested in the programme may apply on the official website, i.e. ncpedp.org. Students/ research scholars pursuing their undergraduate or postgraduate courses from any university/ college in India are eligible to apply for the programme at a nominal fee.
KMC DU Admissions 2022: Centre for Disability Research and Training, Kirori Mal College, DU has collaborated with ‘National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP)’ to launch an online certificate programme, “An Introduction to Disability Research: A Legal and Social Studies Perspective”. In order to help students conveniently accommodate their regular classes, the college has launched the virtual two-credit course spread over 9 weeks with 3 classes every week.
Students interested in the programme may apply on the official website, i.e. ncpedp.org. Students/ research scholars pursuing their undergraduate or postgraduate courses from any university/ college in India are eligible to apply for the programme at a nominal fee.
Talking about the online certificate programme, the varsity said that the course has been designed to sensitize society to the needs and concerns of persons with disabilities and build a more inclusive and accessible world for all in keeping with disability laws and its relevant concepts. It will also help the participants understand the intervention framework, research – writing, and advocacy mechanisms with a special focus on persons with disabilities.
In the year 2021, Kirori Mal College had introduced an initiative to assist visually-challenged students in pursuing higher education. The initiative titled Aarohan was done in collaboration with an NGO called Saksham, the college to provide assistance devices to students who are visually challenged or with low vision.
Meanwhile, the University of Delhi has set up a COVID-19 vaccination drive for its teaching and non-teaching employees and students, officials said. An official statement released by the Chief Medical Officer, Delhi University said, “All teaching and non-teaching employees above 60 years who are eligible for precautionary doses, as well as students of Delhi University (DU) and its constituent colleges, are requested to get vaccinated.”
