KVPY exam 2021 was scheduled to be conducted on November 7, however, it was postponed over regional language concerns. New exam date will be out soon.

KVPY 2021: The Madras High Court has approved the conduct of the KVPY exam 2021 in two languages— Hindi and English, with the condition that there will be a prompt commitment from the government to conduct the exam in regional languages in the years that will follow. For this, the Union must also give an undertaking at the earliest.

The KVPY exam 2021 was scheduled to be conducted on November 7 and the admit cards for the same were released on October 8. Candidates can expect the new date for the aptitude test to be out soon on the official website at kvpy.iisc.ernet.in.

The matter was heard by the Division Bench of Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice P D Audikesavalu. They asked the Additional Solicitor General, ASG to file an affidavit by November 15, 2021, with regards to the inclusion of regional languages in the coming years. It also asked this to be done after taking into account the practical difficulties that might arise if the exam process was revamped at this time.

Chief Justice Banerjee insisted that the Union must mention in the undertaking that the process of including regional languages in this exam will be completed in the next 5 to 6 months. This step is important so that the exam becomes more accessible to students, irrespective of the language barriers.

Earlier, the Madras High court had stayed the conduct of the examination over regional language concerns.
