BCI has launched AIBE XVII official website and notification around 9 am today. Candidates can check the official website of AIBE - allindiabarexamination.com.

The Bar Council of India has officially launched the much awaited All India Bar Examination official website today around 9 am. The official website - allindiabarexamination.com has been launched after the official notification for AIBE XVII was published on BCI website yesterday. However, the website is still a 'work in progress' as some of the important details of examination are yet to be uploaded on it. Moreover, the online application form of AIBE XVII will be released around 5 pm today.

AIBE XVII exam pattern 2022 details are to be shared regarding the mode of examination, test scheme, and marking scheme along with the application form. Prima facie, AIBE will be held in Computer-Based Test mode as well.

The exam authority has also updated helpdesk as under:

Candidates must be informed that they can apply for AIBE XVII even if they have enrolled with their state bar council more than 2 years ago. The exam authority has clarified the same in a notification in 2017 stating, " It is hereby reiterated and clarified any Advocate who has graduated after 1st July, 2010 can appear in All India Bar Examination for as many times as it requires him or her to pass such exam irrespective of the fact that he or she has been enrolled for more than two years as an Advocate on a State Bar Council Roll. The concerned Advocate is only barred from practicing as an advocate, if even after two years of being enrolled as an Advocate on a State Bar Council Roll, he or she is unable to clear/pass the All India Bar Examination. Thus an Advocate enrolled on a State Roll is not debarred from appearing in the All India Bar Examination and as per Resolution No. 73/2010 dated 30th April, 2010, passed by the General Council of the Bar Council an unsuccessful candidate may appear in the All India Bar Examination, without any limit on the number of attempts, till he or she clears/passes such exam."

As per this notification, such candidates will only be prohibited from practising at the court, if not cleared the mandatory examination even after two years of enrollment with state bar councils. However, as per the latest developments held in Delhi High Court regarding the concern, Justice Pratibha M Singh has requested Delhi Bar Council to not debar the practising advocates (yet to obtain COP) as the exam was delayed unexpectedly.

No Sir, You can enrol and start practice. You don't need to appear and qualify AIBE. It is for graduates from 2009-2010 year onwards. Regards,
