Appearing for AILET this year has health risk due to COVID-19 pandemic, therefore, NLU Delhi shared exam day guidelines for conducting the exam in a safe environment.
The National Law University, Delhi (NLUD) will be conducting All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is an AI-enabled remote proctored mode. After considering different modes of conducting AILET 2020, NLU Delhi has decided that it would be safest to conduct the exam in home-based test mode. Here are some AILET 2020 exam day guidelines for RPT mode as shared by NLU Delhi.
AILET 2020 Preparation for RPT Mode
For the past one year (or more), AILET aspirants have been preparing themselves to take the exam in a pen-paper-based test mode. However, now as the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, the offline mode is risk-prone. Therefore, AILET 2020 will be conducted in a home-based online test mode. Now, candidates need to prepare for AILET 2020 according to Remote-Proctored Test mode accordingly. Those who have never taken an online exam or prepared for an online exam would find it difficult. However, with diligent practice of online exam in the next 30 days, they would be able to perform well. They need to:
- Take at least 1- 2 mock tests a day based on the exam pattern of AILET 2020
- Work on time-management, speed and accuracy for online exam
- Review the preparation level, and work on key improvement areas
- Stick with the well-prepared topics to avoid wasting time and, negative marking
With consistent practice, candidates will be prepared well enough for AILET RPT mode on August 18.
Prepare to take RPT exam
If candidates decide to take AILET 2020 irrespective of change in the exam mode then, they must prepare for the exam day well in advance. They need to ensure they have a fine-working laptop or computer with a smooth internet connection.
NLU Delhi suggests, "Computers and/or Internet or Wifi connections at homes – This issue can be tackled with some forward-thinking and making arrangements with neighbours/ relatives/ friends who have computer and internet connectivity and which can be either lent for the examination or used to take the test. The option of visiting a cyber or internet café nearby the home can also be explored. Sufficient time is in hand to make necessary arrangements, places and people who can help can be identified and availed. In most difficult cases, even travel from your town/ village to the district headquarters for gaining better cyber stations may be a good option. Given that the traditional AILET Examination also involves the travel of hundreds of kilometres for the candidates as we have a very limited number of centres, this option is valid."

Check Internet Connectivity Beforehand
Candidates taking the exam must check that any kind of disruption in the internet connectivity or power must be avoided on the test day. The exam will be conducted for a duration of 1 hour 30 minutes from 10 am to 11:30 am, therefore, candidates should ensure they have enough charging for 2 hours or more, and internet backup for better connectivity.
NLU Delhi suggested, "The concerns regarding internet speed, power cut, and connectivity issues are understandable but largely unavoidable many times.
- It can be best dealt with by keeping a backup option of attempting to switch to the mobile phone with its internet facility, or visiting a cybercafé with reliable internet connectivity and electricity flow.
- The basic hourly charges of using the internet at a cybercafe are on an average INR 50-100, which is not much, considering the fact that more amount would have been originally spent while travelling to a physical examination centre. "

Although NLU Delhi has given candidates a choice to withdraw from AILET 2020 if they are unable to take the exam due to RPT mode. However, if candidates choose to appear for the examination and, are facing any issue then they can reach out to NLU Delhi exam helpdesk.
