Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is conducted on a rotational basis by the National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. CLAT 2018 is scheduled to be conducted by The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi. CLAT is a national level law entrance exam that aspirants need to clear in order to secure admission in undergraduate as well as postgraduate law programmes in colleges accepting CLAT scores for admission.
CLAT 2018 is scheduled to be conducted completely online. CLAT test paper for UG admissions consists of 200 questions which aspirants need to attempt in 2 hours duration. CLAT exam pattern is such that aspirants need to attempt multiple choice questions related to subjects such as – English including Comprehension, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability), Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. CLAT PG paper consists of 150 multiple choice questions from topics such as Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and Other law subjects (Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, Environment Law and Human Rights, etc.).

CLAT 2018 Application Process
CLAT exam is conducted in the month of April/May every year and the same is expected in 2018 as well. CLAT 2018 application forms will be available on the official website from January 2018 onwards. As per CLAT 2018 exam dates, the application process would end in March 2018.
Like last year, CLAT 2018 application process would be completely online this year too. Thus, aspirants can register for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) only on the official website of the law entrance exam.
CLAT application process states that aspirants need to fill the application form through “CAPS”, that is, CLAT Online Application Processing System. Through this online interface, candidates can get in touch directly with CLAT office.
In order to successfully fill CLAT 2018 application form, candidates are advised to use Internet Explorer (version 7 to 11)/Mozilla Firefox (14 to 32)/Google Chrome (20 to 36).

CLAT 2018 application fee can be paid by any means, that is, online or through Challan. Candidates need to note that additional bank charges may apply for the above transactions. In order to successfully apply for CLAT 2018, aspirants need to follow the below mentioned steps:
Step 1: Create Login ID
To register for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), candidates need to select the course in which they want to apply for admission and thereafter fill details like their full name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, email ID, nationality and mobile number. On submitting these details, candidates are provided with an application number and are also provided with a registration slip.
Details regarding the username and password to be used for login as well as to fill the application form are sent via email and sms on the aspirant’s mobile number. Candidates are advised to fill these details carefully as they will not be able to make any changes in the login details at a later stage.
Step 2: Fill Details in CLAT 2018 Application Form
In the application form for CLAT exam, candidates have to fill information such as of their full address, qualification and their “NLU Preference Choice”.
Step 3: Upload Photo, Signature and Other Documents
Further, candidates need to upload their recent passport size photograph, signature and date of birth certificate with their CLAT application form. The format and size of the documents to be uploaded with the application form for CLAT admissions is as mentioned below:

Step 4: Select CLAT Test City
Next, candidates need to select three exam city preferences. “The test city preference is only indicative and subject to the availability of seats”, informs the official website of the national level law entrance exam.
Step 4: Pay CLAT Application Fee
The exam fee can be paid by candidates either online or even through the offline mode. The official website informs: “For offline mode candidates are advised to download the Challan and visit the ICCI bank branch and deposit fees. After submitting the fees, applicants are advised to keep Candidate Copy for future reference”.
Step 5: Print CLAT Application Form
Lastly, candidates are advised to save their duly filled application form for CLAT exam and thereafter take a clear print of their Common Law Admission Test application form.
