As per the revised CLAT Exam Day Guidelines 2024, if a candidate wishes to opt for a scribe or a reader assistance then he/she is requested to inform the Consortium of the same by uploading the relevant document(s) to their applicant portal.
CLAT 2024 Exam: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released important guidelines for the candidates appearing for CLAT Exam 2024 on December 3, 2023. The guidelines have been released for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)/ Specially Abled Persons (“SAPS”) Less than 40 per cent disability. As per the revised CLAT Exam Day Guidelines 2024, if a candidate wishes to opt for a scribe or a reader assistance then he/she is requested to inform the Consortium of the same by uploading the relevant document(s) to their applicant portal.
It must be noted that until this year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the consortium has asked PwDs/ SAPs to make arrangements for getting their personal scribe and bear the associated costs.However, from this year onwards the Consortium has given them a choice to request for a scribe or a reader. As per the official CLAT Notification 2024, candidates who wish to request the Consortium to arrange the scribe must indicate the same in their applicant portal by tomorrow; i.e. November 26, until 3 pm. It is mandatory for such candidates to upload Annexure I by 12:00 pm of November 28, 2023.
In addition to the above, if the candidate elects to arrange for their own scribe, they are required to upload Appendix II and III by 12:00 pm of November 28.
CLAT 2024 Exam: How to apply for scribe
Candidates can follow the simple steps given below to request for scribe:
● Login to your CLAT 2024 account.
● Click on the ‘Submit Scribe Documents’ button.
● Fill the form completely indicating if you will arrange for your own scribe OR request consortium to arrange the scribe and click on the ‘Save’ button.
CLAT exam day guidelines for PWDs and Specially abled persons
Candidates appearing for CLAT Exam under PWD/ Specially-abled persons criteria must follow the important instructions mentioned below:
- Total time provided to PwDs/SAPs in CLAT 2024 will be 40 minutes extra; i.e. 2 hours and 40 minutes.
- PwDs/ SAPs candidates must carry their original Disability Certificate to the Test Centre on the day of the CLAT 2024
- PwDs/ SAPs candidates who wish to avail the facility of a scribe must send email to the consortium in the duly filled proformas given below:
