Prof (Dr) Vijender Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University Nagpur is elected as the President of the Consortium of NLUs. The decision was taken at the annual governing body meeting of the Consortium which was held on January 31, 2023, at Diu under the Chairpersonship of Prof. (Dr.) Poonam Saxena.

Consortium of National Law Universities gets new President

The Consortium of National Law Universities organised its Annual Governing Body Meeting on January 31, 2023, at Diu under the Chairpersonship of Prof. (Dr.) Poonam Saxena. In the meeting, Prof (Dr) Vijender Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University Nagpur was elected as the next President of the Consortium of NLUs.

"The Annual Governing Body Meeting of the Consortium of National Law Universities was held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Diu under the Chairpersonship of Prof. (Dr.) Poonam Saxena. At the meeting, the Governing Body elected a new Executive Committee of the Consortium of NLUs, with Prof (Dr) Vijender Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University Nagpur taking over as President from the Outgoing President Prof. (Dr.) Poonam Saxena" reads the official notification of the Consortium of NLUs.

Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan, Vice-Chancellor, Hidayatullah National Law University is elected as the Vice-President, and Prof. (Dr.) Shanthakumar, Director, Gujarat National Law University, elected as Convenor, CLAT 2024.

"Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan, Vice-Chancellor, Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur was elected Vice-President, and Prof. (Dr.) Shanthakumar, Director, Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar was elected Convenor, CLAT 2024," added the notification.

About CLAT 2024

Till now, CLAT exam is conducted twice a year, but from 2024, the exam will be held only once a year in December month to complete the admission process on time. The exam is for admission to 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM (PG) courses offered by 24 participating NLUs. At present, UG courses are offered by all 24 NLUs, and PG courses are offered at 21 NLUs.
