The University of Delhi, Faculty of Law in collaboration with NALSA is all set to organise a conclave on “Indianisation of Legal System and Education” from September 29 to September 30, 2022.

In the commemoration of the Centenary Year of the University of Delhi, the Faculty of Law in collaboration with the National Legal Service Authority (NALSA), and the Supreme Court of India is organizing a conclave on “Indianisation of Legal System and Education” on the September 29 and September 30, 2022, at the Convention Hall, Vice Regal Lodge, University of Delhi. 

Union Minister of law and Justice Kiren Rijiju will grace the event as the Chief Guest, along with Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul (Judge, Supreme Court of India) as the Guest of Honour, Tushar Mehta (Solicitor General of India) as the Special Guest. The event will be presided over by Prof. Yogesh Singh (Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi). 

More Details of Conclave

The event will kickstart with an inaugural session on September 29 at 5 pm and on the next day, there shall be online technical sessions, which will deliberate to strive to mark a systemic change towards a more inclusionary legal system that meets the needs of the masses. Esteemed personalities from the legal fraternity and bureaucracy such as Justice Rajendra Menon (Chairperson, Armed Forces Tribunal, Former Chief Justice, Delhi High Court), Justice M.M. Kumar, Member NHRC, Former Chief Justice, Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Atul Kothari, Social Thinker, Professor Ved P. Nanda, Padma Bhushan, John Evans Distinguished University Professor & Thompson G. Marsh Professor of Law, University of Denver, USA, Justice Karuna Nand Bajpayee, Judicial Member, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Rahul Goel, Partner, Anant Law, Sh. Harish Salve, Dr. Rajiv Mani, amongst others will be holding technical sessions highlighting issues of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, linguistic barriers, integration of technology to make justice delivery efficient, reforms in Indian legal education etc. The event will culminate in a Valedictory session on September 30, 2022.
