From the current academic year 2021-2022, the GLS Law College has chosen to migrate to its parent university which is run by Gujarat Law Society (GLS).
GLS Law College was one of the best colleges of Gujarat University (GU) for integrated five-year Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Legislative Law (BA LLB) course.
The college has already de-affiliated from GU and started admissions as GLS affiliated college. The students who enrolled before 2020-21 will graduate as GU students.
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has given permission to GLS Law College to run the five-year law course as a GLS affiliate university from the current session and it will be a self-financed course.
While talking to a media house, the president of GLS University Sudhir Nanavaty said, “We received permission to run the course this year. We have revamped the curriculum, added new courses for better exposure and also developed a laboratory worth Rs 65 lakh for students to brainstorm and interact.”
As per GU officials, nearly 80% of applicants chose GLS Law College as their first preference for integrated law courses. GLS Law College was the only college to get 100% seat occupancy. After the college migration process, GU is left with only three colleges that offer integrated law programs. One in Kalol and two in Ahmedabad.
