ILS Law College, Pune: Dr Deepa Paturkar takes over as Principal

Dr Deepa Paturkar, an alumna of ILS, has been associated with the college for 13 years and now has taken charge as Principal (Additional Charge).

After the former Officiating Principal of ILS Law College, Pune Prof Sanjay Jain moved to National Law School of India University, Bangalore, veteran academician Dr Deepa Paturkar has taken over as Principal of ILS Law College, Pune.

About Dr Deepa Paturkar

She holds specializations in Business Law, Health Laws, and Laws relating to labour management relations. Her publications include books titled “Child Rights and the Law” and “Law of Contracts” published by Symbiosis Distance learning Centre. She has edited the 9th edition of Avatar Sing on Law of Sale of Goods, published by the Eastern Book Company.

Dr Deepa Paturkar has published a number of research articles in international and national journals. She was offered a fellowship at Summer University in Budapest, Hungary. She was invited as a Panel Member to speak on “Pro Bono and Legal Aid – an Indian Perspective” at the 5th Asia Pro Bono Conference held in Bali, Indonesia. 

Other feathers in her cap include that she has presented a paper on Surrogacy and the Law at the Annual Conference of Private International Law, University of Cambridge, UK. She is working as an External Expert Member of the Internal Committee of the Multinational Software Company. under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. She is a member secretary of the ILS Ethics Committee and attached to the Ethics Committee at Jehangir Hospital and Sahyadri Hospital as a legal expert.
