The Centre for Tribal and Land Rights (CTLR) of the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) has inked an MoU with the government of Andhra Pradesh to provide legal support for the prestigious resurvey project of the state government named YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhoo Hakku Mariyu Bhoo Raksha Padhakam.
As per the Live Law report, the project requires a lot of legal support in drafting, reviewing and preparing legal documents; imparting training; undertaking legal research; resolving land disputes, and spreading legal awareness among the farmers.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is keen on completing the project as early as possible and helping the farmers and involving the CTLR of NALSAR for taking required legal support.
Details of NALSAR, Andhra govt agreement on resurvey land project
NALSAR will provide technical support in reviewing, drafting, and preparing legal documents pertaining to the implementation of resurvey project. It will impart training to various stakeholders, design and implement innovative pilot programmes for strengthening and creatively implementing resurvey projects, prepare awareness material, undertake research and other initiatives, will do documentation and policy advocacy including lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences, and work on Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms pertaining to Land Disputes.
The resurvey project is of agricultural and non-agricultural lands. The project is expected to be executed in 3 years with a budget outlay of one thousand crores. Under the resurvey project, every parcel of land in Andhra Pradesh is going to be surveyed and numbered with geo-quadrants.
