The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences Kolkata is all set to conduct the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) National Moot Court Competition 2023 on March 18 and March 19, 2023. For the moot court competition, the law university has collaborated with the Department of Law, Sister Nivedita University.

The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (NUJS) has collaborated with the Department of Law, Sister Nivedita University (SNU) to present the 2nd AIU National Moot Court Competition, 2023, which is scheduled for the March 18 and March 19, 2023.

The event is open to all law undergraduates enrolled in India and promises to throw a veritable intellectual gauntlet before India’s budding lawyers by posing a topical, thought-provoking, multifaceted and layered problem before the participants, with a faithful simulation of cutting-edge real-life litigation experience, – the hope and expectation being that, this will bring to the fore bright young talent from across the nation.

"The universities, cognizant of the pivotal role played by the Association of Indian Universities (“AIU”) in bringing this laudable initiative to life, would like to place on record, their sincere appreciation for the same," reads the official notification.

"We look forward with the greatest of anticipation to a truly remarkable standard of legal sparring and a battle of ideas, interpretation and construction from among the ranks of India’s future advocates, jurists and lawmakers!" added the notification.

NUJS alum selected in govt panel

NUJS alum named Rahul Rai (Bo07) is one of the four lawyers selected as a part of the Government Panel for assessing the need for a separate law on competition in digital markets. The name of the committee is Committee on Digital Competition Law (CDCL).

NUJS Kolkata tweet reads, "NUJS is extremely proud to announce that its alum Rahul Rai (Bo07) is one of the four lawyers selected as a part of the Government Panel for assessing the need for a separate law on competition in digital markets."
