Admissions are open for PhD in Law, Political Science, History, Economics, and Forensic Sciences and LLD degrees at WB National University of Juridical Sciences. The candidates seeking admissions to PhD and LLD degrees of law from a reputed law university may apply for the courses at WBNUJS latest by April 30, 2023.

The law students interested in pursuing PhD and LLD courses must know that admissions are open at the WB National University of Juridical Sciences. 

"Applications are invited in prescribed proforma for admission to PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in Law/Political Science/History/Economics/and Forensic Science. The last date for submission of the application is April 30, 2023," reads the WBNUJS statement.

Eligibility criteria to apply for PhD, LLD degrees at WBNUJS

To apply for the PhD programme, the candidate shall have an LLM degree or any Master's degree in relevant subjects with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA. In the case of SC, ST, and OBC (non-creamy layer), the minimum percentage is 50%. Candidates who have qualified for UGC NET/SLET/SET/JRF fellowships or have M.Phil. degrees are exempted from the entrance test. However, they have to undergo an interview. Candidates who appeared in Final LLM Examination or Master's Degree in their respective subject may also apply. Admission is subject to the submission of final marks sheets with the requisite percentage of marks at the time of admission.

To apply for the LLD courses, the candidates must have PhD degree in law from any recognized university. Also, the candidate must have published as the main author a minimum of ten articles in the peer-reviewed/refereed journals having ISSN number, preferably number in SCOPUS/ UGC CARE listed journals or books of repute with ISBN after the completion of PhD. He/she shall submit a Research Literature Review: national/international proposal which includes- Concept &Introduction; Statement of Problem; ; Research gap; Objectives of the Study; Research Questions; Hypothesis ifany); Research Methodology; Research Design; Research Tools; research/ expected outcome; relevant to policy-making/society; innovation; new data to be generated and novelty of the study.
