Sharing the good news through her official Twitter account, Gaikwad said that she has also shared that the state government has allocated INR 14 crore towards the pending electricity bills of the schools.
In order to improve the quality and infrastructure of government schools in Maharashtra, the government of the state has announced its decision to supply uninterrupted power to the schools. Announcing the decision of the government, Maharashtra School Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad added that the government is also considering supplying subsidized electricity to the schools in Maharashtra.
Sharing the good news through her official Twitter account, Gaikwad said that she has also shared that the state government has allocated INR 14 crore towards the pending electricity bills of the schools.
The minister has also assured the schools that there would be electricity supply to all schools and the students would face no power cuts as a hindrance in the teaching and learning process. She has also shared that the government is considering the demand for discounted power tariffs for educational institutions.
Quoting Bible, Gaikwad starts with ‘Let there be light!’.She further writes, “The Maharashtra government has decided that schools in the state will get uninterrupted power supply. We are also working on a policy for subsidised electricity for schools."
The move is expected to provide some much needed relief to the schools. Not only is electricity required for ensuring an ambient learning environment, it is also needed for the various labs and devices to operate in schools.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra is all set to close schools for summer vacations soon. The Department of Education has directed schools to complete the examinations in April and declare the result by April 30. Maharashtra Schools would close from May 2 for summer vacations in the state. The commencement of the new session would be from June 13.
