Maharashtra government to offer skill development training to children above 15 years

The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar.

The Maharashtra government has decided to provide skill development training to children above 15 years in line with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). The government has signed a memorandum of understanding to pursue its initiative of rendering skill based training to children from a younger age.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar.

A chain of tweets posted through the Twitter handle of CMO Maharashtra, reads, “An MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar to provide skill development training to children above 15 years of age in selected schools of @mybmc”

“An MoU was signed between Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Maharashtra State Skill Development Society, Department of School Education and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation for imparting skill training to the students of secondary and higher secondary schools of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.”

“As per MoU, skill development training will be given to children above 15 years of age in selected schools of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation,” the CMO said.

Stating that the initiative will be pilot based, CMO added, “The skill training program is aimed to be started on a pilot basis for 41 thousand 774 students of class IX to X in 249 schools out of 1146 schools. Along with this, 96 thousand 922 students from sixth to eighth will also get this training in a phased manner.”
