Mangaluru college’s 4 engg courses get NBA accreditation

The four programmes that have received NBA accreditation are computer science and engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering and electronics and communication engineering.

St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, has received re-accreditation of four of its BE programmes from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi, for three years, i.e. from July 2022 to June 2025. 

An expert team from the NBA visited the college in July to assess the four BE programmes: computer science and engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering and electronics and communication engineering. The team appreciated the infrastructure, management, faculty, student contributions and outcome-based education practices adopted in the college.  

The college has also been awarded A+ grade with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.39 on a four-point scale by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for five years till February 22, 2026. The college is an autonomous institute under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, Karnataka, and is recognised by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.  

Conference on novel concepts in civil engg 

To explore diverse topics on current development in civil engineering, the department of civil engineering is hosting an international conference on ‘Novel Sustainable Concepts and Technologies in Civil Engineering (NSCTCE 2022)’ from September 23 to 25. 

The conference will contribute to advances in civil engineering, building materials and structural engineering, water resources and geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering and environmental engineering.  

Recording studio opens at college 

The college has recently launched its newly developed facility, Melodium - The SJEC Studio. It is a uniquely designed, one of its kind, state-of-the-art audio recording facility in Mangaluru that primarily caters to the needs of local talent in the fields of art, music and audio technology. The facility is open to the general public seeking a space to create music and any audio-related content.
