IIMC releases update on 2020-21 admission process, entrance exam unlikely to be conducted

The IIMC has released a notice on the 2020-21 admission process and has given an update on the new selection procedure.

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has released a notice regarding the admission procedure to various postgraduate courses which are offered at the institute and its regional areas. The IIMC informs students that the admission procedure to the courses may not be able to be conducted on general time due to the impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the prevailing situation in the country. However, students can still apply online as the IIMC has informed that students will be provided sufficient time to register and apply online.

IIMC has decided to bifurcate the IIMC Entrance Exam and the Interview round for four courses which are:

• PGD in Malayalam Journalism
• PGD in Marathi Journalism
• PGD in Odia Journalism
• Urdu Journalism

The other four main courses, admission will be held separately on the account of logical issues. The other courses are as follows:

• PGD in English and Hindi Journalism
• PGD in Advertising and Public Relations
• PGD in Radio and TV

IIMC has released the prospectus for all courses and the application form portal is also back. Students will be notified regarding the admission process. For regional languages PGD courses, the admission process will be held at the respective campuses of the language.  Here is the notice as released by IIMC.

How to Apply for IIMC Entrance Exam.

Step 1: The candidate will have to visit the official website of Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC).

Step 2: On reaching the homepage of IIMC, the candidate will have to click on the link ‘IIMC Entrance Exam 2020 Application’.

Step 3: On clicking the link, the applicant will have to register themselves by entering basic details such as name, mobile number and email ID.

Step 4: Once registered, the candidate has to apply online and fill details such as personal and academic information.

Step 5: Upload the images according to the dimensions mentioned on the IIMC Entrance Exam application form.

Step 6: Proceed to pay the application fee via online mode i.e. net banking/credit card/debit card.

Step 7: Once the payment is made, the candidate has then successfully applied for the IIMC Entrance Exam.
