CAT 2021 Result: Check Date, Time and Process to Download CAT 2021 Scorecard

CAT 2021 result date is expected to be January 1, 2022. Although the official notification says that, the CAT result 2021 will be announced in the second week of January, but going by the trend of CAT result announcement of the past few years, one can expect it to be declared by January 1, 10:00 AM.

The CAT exam result is declared on the first Saturday or Monday of January. Last year, it was declared on January 2, which was a Saturday. CAT 2019 result was announced on January 4, which was a Saturday. The result of CAT 2018 too was declared on a Saturday (January 5). However, in 2016 and 2017 the CAT result was declared on Monday, January 8 and January 9, respectively.

CAT 2021 exam was held on November 28 in three slot and about 1.92 lakh candidates appeared for it from across India. According to the CAT 2021 exam analysis, the question paper was of moderate difficulty level. Candidates are not waiting for result declaration.

The gap between CAT exam and result is usually 34-40 days during which preliminary and final answer keys are released by the authority. The gap also allows IIMs time to prepare for the MBA admission process which begins soon after the announcement of CAT result.

CAT Toppers

• There is no AIR ranking in CAT. Those who score the highest percentile are considered CAT toppers
• Every year, about 10-20 candidates score 100 percentile in the CAT exam. This has been a trend in the past few years
• Most of the 100 percentilers are from Engineering and Technical background
• A good number of candidates score 99 + percentile. They usually belong to Engineering, Technical and Commerce background

CAT 2021 Cut Offs

Admission through CAT score is based on the cut offs determined by IIMs. There are two types of CAT cut offs that a candidate has to clear for getting shortlisted for IIM admission. One is qualifying cut off and the other is final cut off. The qualifying CAT cut off is minimum score required to be eligible for admission rounds of the IIMs, and the final cut off is the minimum marks on the basis of which a candidate is shortlisted for IIM admission rounds.
