CAT 2022 exam will be conducted by IIM Bangalore. The exam notification will be released on July 31. Going by the previous years’ trends, CAT exam date will be November 27. There is no change expected in the syllabus or pattern.
Normally one for the top five IIMs conduct the CAT exam after a gap of five years. IIM Bangalore previously conducted the CAT in 2016. Thus, it has been given the responsibility to conduct CAT 2022. The exam is conducted for admission to MBA/PGDM programme offered by the 20 IIMs and over 1,200 MBA colleges across India.
Along with the notification, CAT exam schedule will also be released which will include registration date and exam dates. The CAT 2022 registration is expected to begin in the first week of August and will go on till the third week of September. CAT admit card 2022 will be released in mid-October.
Last year, IIM Ahmedabad conducted the CAT and the exam pattern was revised and the number of questions were reduced in every section. The difficulty level of the exam however was maintained as high. This year, IIM Bangalore is expected to follow the same CAT exam pattern.
CAT Registration 2022 Highlights
MBA aspirants who plan to appear for the CAT this year can check key highlights related to the CAT application form.
- The CAT 2022 application form will be available at iimcat.ac.in website.
- The CAT form can be filled in online mode only.
- The CAT application process includes three steps – registration, application form filling and payment of fees.
- All the three steps have to be completed before the deadline.
- CAT application fee is INR 2,200 for General category candidates and INR 1,100 for Reserved category candidates. The fee is non-refundable.
- The minimum eligibility criteria for filling the CAT application form is bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any stream from a recognised university.
- Minimum marks required is 50 per cent for General category and 45 per cent for Reserved category students.
- Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply.
- To fill the CAT application form, Aadhaar or any valid ID card, recent passport size photo, scanned copy of signature and category certificate (for Reserved category candidates only) is required.
