CMAT 2025 exam is scheduled on January 25, 2025. Now is the time to make an exam day strategy that will help you in making optimum use of the exam preparation. Knowing all the topics is not enough. You need to be able to use the knowledge during the exam. For example, the most crucial aspect of a good performance in a speed based exam like CMAT is choice of questions. CMAT 2025 will have 100 questions and the exam duration is 180 minutes. So, effectively you will get 1.8 minutes for every question. But it is not mandatory to solve all the questions. So, the key is to know how many and which questions to solve. Make your CMAT 2025 exam day strategy accordingly.

CMAT 2025 Last Minute Tips
CMAT is a moderate exam in terms of difficulty level but one needs to be able to handle it well on the exam day for getting a good score. Here are a few tips that will be helpful performing better in the CMAT exam 2025.
Revise important points: Revision of important points related to important topics should be your main focus now. Go through all the important concepts, theorems, etc. every day and the night before exam day.
Use short notes for revision: There is no time to revise everything in detail. Use short notes that you prepared during CMAT 2025 preparation. Short notes are easy to consume and remember.
Do not start a new chapter: If you have missed covering any topic. Don’t fret over it. Focus on what all you have covered. In the CMAT 2025 exam, attempt questions from the topics you have covered.
Make a strategy basis your strength: All the knowledge gained during preparation period may not be of much use. Questions may not be asked from all topics of the CMAT syllabus. So, work on topics from which maximum questions are asked. Take a look at previous years’ CMAT questions papers for topic wise weightage and then make a strategy.
Target sectional cut off: For a good overall score in CMAT, you need to solve a good number of questions in every section. There are 20 questions in every section, so target solving 15-17 questions in each with maximum accuracy.
Do not do guess work: CMAT has negative marking so you need to stay away from the trap of guess work. Every question carries 4 marks. One mark is deducted for incorrect attempt but there is no negative marking for skipping questions. So, if you are not sure of the correct answer, skip it.

Yes, there is a negative marking in CMAT exam. For each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted. For example, if a candidate attempts 18 questions from Logical Reasoning and gets 15 questions correct but 3 questions incorrect. Then the candidate's score for this section will be 15x4-3, i.e. 57. However, no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.
Thus, candidates must choose only those questions to solve which they are sure of solving accurately. It is anyway not possible to solve all 100 questions, so candidates must weigh their options viz. Strength and weak areas and then choose questions carefully.
If candidates are not sure of answering a question correctly or it is taking too much time, then they should leave that questions and move to next as they also need to keep a tab on the time limit.
