FIED IIM Kashipur inaugurates 'VIKAS' - An Entrepreneurship development programme for business owners and corporates

Foundation for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (FIED), IIM Kashipur inaugurated its Entrepreneurship Development Program, VIKAS. The programme has been aimed to build entrepreneurial competencies by discussing real-life case studies in sessions that will be taken by IIM professors. The programme will help small business owners and corporate employees to enhance their leadership skills and motivate them to build an entrepreneurial culture within the companies through efficient market analysis and need assessment. 

The inauguration ceremony started with the lighting of the lamp. Professor Safal Batra said that the program was aimed to collaborate FIED, IIM Kashipur with local industries and to hear and solve problems of the Udham Singh Nagar district and the Uttarakhand state.

Professor KN Badhani while addressing the participants said that for management students, society is a lab where they can experiment, succeed or learn from the failures and experiences. He said that the collaboration would give a chance to utilise the abundant resources in Uttarakhand in an efficient way.

Professor Kulbhushan Balooni, Director of IIM Kashipur, said that FIED is a pioneering example of what IIMs can do. He said that through FIED, IIM Kashipur is reaching out to the stakeholders and making a difference. With the aim of Innovation, entrepreneurship, and development, it wants to start with developing the base where it's established and then grow further. For this, innovation is the key aspect to focus on.

The programme is stretched to 8 weekends and will see network building programmes and mentorship by industry experts and will see participants from local and national companies like Polytex Pvt. Ltd., KVS Pvt. Ltd., Radico Khaitan Pvt. Ltd., Siddharth Papers, LIC, etc.
