IIM Indore welcomes new batches of Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management (PGP-HRM), Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM), and Integrated Programme in Management – Fourth Year (IPM-4th Year).
The Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) welcomed its new batch of students across various programmes such as Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management (PGP-HRM), Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM), and Integrated Programme in Management – Fourth Year (IPM-4th Year). The event, inaugurated by Professor Himanshu Rai, Director of IIM Indore, set an encouraging tone for the students beginning their academic journey.

Addressing the gathering, Professor Himanshu Rai delivered a profound message urging the new batch to embrace their destinies and realize their true potential. He emphasized the concept of "swadharma," highlighting the importance of personal fulfillment over material gains and encouraged students to differentiate between genuine needs and superficial desires. Professor Rai also underscored the significance of resilience, courage, and continuous learning as keys to a purposeful life journey.
Commitment to Community and Diversity
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Sayantan Banerjee, Chair of the Post Graduate Programme (PGP), emphasized IIM Indore’s role as a supportive community that nurtures holistic development. He urged students to uphold values of ethics, inclusivity, and kindness, emphasizing their responsibility in shaping a better society. Banerjee called upon the new cohort to leave a legacy of positive change, highlighting the institution’s commitment to fostering leaders who make a meaningful impact.
Diversity Statistics and Academic Excellence
The new batch at IIM Indore demonstrates commendable diversity, with females comprising over 31% of the total participants across programmes. Particularly noteworthy is the Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management (PGP-HRM), where females represent an impressive 93.94% of the cohort, marking a significant stride towards gender balance. Additionally, the batch showcases a diverse academic background, with non-engineers constituting 46.86% of the total student body.
Academic Recognitions and Awards
During the induction ceremony, Himanshu Rai presented the Certificate of Academic Excellence to outstanding performers from the PGP and PGP-HRM programmes. Thirty-two participants received this prestigious recognition for their exemplary academic achievements.
Furthermore, the institute celebrated the success of student teams who excelled in national competitions, receiving certificates for their achievements. These included accolades from the IMA India Student Case Competition and the UNIQUEST Case Study Competition, highlighting IIM Indore’s commitment to nurturing competitive spirit among its students.
Enhancing Campus Experience
The induction programme concluded with briefings on campus facilities, including computing resources, library services, and infrastructure updates. These sessions provided the new students with insights into the support systems available to them during their academic tenure at IIM Indore.
