Under this faculty development programme, the institute will train the college principals in the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP) in their institutes, enhancing instructional leadership, fostering effective communication, promoting cultural competence, encouraging innovation and adaptability, and instilling data-informed decision-making skills.

IIM Jammu conducts Faculty Development Programme

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu is conducting the third batch of the faculty development programme (FDP) ‘Education leadership development training programme’ for college principals of Jammu and Kashmir. The programme started on March 11 at Srinagar campus of the institute and will conclude on March 15.

Under this faculty development programme, the institute will train the college principals in the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP) in their institutes, enhancing instructional leadership, fostering effective communication, promoting cultural competence, encouraging innovation and adaptability, and instilling data-informed decision-making skills.

IIM Jammu director BS Sahay said the programme symbolises a deep-rooted commitment to educational excellence and innovation. He urged participants to encourage students to take competitive exams such as NEET, GATE, JEE, and CAT.

He expressed optimism that such initiatives would contribute to a brighter future in education, aligning with national priorities. The director also motivated the principals to participate in NIRF Rankings and collaborate on joint research programs with IIM Jammu.

Jabir Ali, dean academics, IIM Jammu, said the program signifies our commitment to fostering educational leadership, empowering college principals to steer academic excellence in Jammu and Kashmir. “I would like to urge that educational institutes work together and collaborate for nation-building and global progress,” he said.

IIM Jammu Srinage campus chairperson Muqbil Burhan highlighted the innovative initiatives undertaken by IIM Jammu and their impact on the educational landscape. He encouraged program participants to engage actively with the institute's offerings and contribute to its growth and success.
