IIM Kozhikode, SAIL's MTI forge strategic Collaboration for HRD & Academic Growth

This strategic partnership aims to combine the strengths of both institutions in order to foster capacity-building, knowledge-sharing, and skill enhancement for mutual growth. Through this collaboration, IIMK and MTI-SAIL will work together on a variety of initiatives designed to enhance leadership and organizational capabilities across both academic and industrial spheres.

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) and the Management Training Institute (MTI) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), have formalized a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration is set to enhance academic activities and human resource development (HRD) interventions. The MoU was signed by Sanjay Dhar, Chief General Manager, MTI-SAIL, and Lt. Col. Julius George (Retd.), representing IIMK.

Key Areas of Collaboration

1. Training Programs for SAIL Executives
   As part of the MoU, both institutions will jointly organize long and short-duration training programs tailored specifically for SAIL executives. These programs will be designed to build management expertise and enhance leadership skills, with a focus on real-world industry challenges.
2. Joint Research and Consultancy
   The collaboration will also foster joint research, the development of case studies, and the organization of conferences and consultancy activities. These efforts will combine the academic research capabilities of IIM Kozhikode with SAIL’s industrial experience to address key challenges in the corporate and manufacturing sectors.
3. Certification and Customized Learning Solutions
   The partnership will facilitate the development of specialized certification programs and customized learning solutions for executives. These offerings are aimed at addressing specific industry needs, enabling SAIL’s workforce to remain competitive and agile in an evolving business landscape.
4. Faculty Exchange and Academic Support
   The MoU includes provisions for faculty exchange, where experts from both IIMK and MTI-SAIL will share knowledge and best practices. This initiative will promote mutual growth and foster a deeper academic and industrial exchange between the two institutions.
