The event was attended by Shri C P Gurnani, Chairperson, Board of Governors – IIM Nagpur, & MD & CEO – Tech Mahindra as the Chief Guest.

The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIMN) welcomed its first batch of 33 participants of MBA for working professionals programme (at Nagpur campus) on October 28, 2021. According to official press release, the participants have an average work experience of 10 years and are currently working in diverse industries and roles.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the students of the MBA programme for working professionals, as well as the faculty and staff members of IIM Nagpur. The event was attended by Shri C P Gurnani, Chairperson, Board of Governors – IIM Nagpur, & MD & CEO – Tech Mahindra as the Chief Guest.  The Guest of Honour for the occasion was Mr S Ganesh Mani, Director (Manufacturing) & Board Member – Hyundai Motor India Ltd.

Students received a brief overview of the programme by Professor Saurabh Pandya, Chairperson, MBA Programme for Working Professionals. He emphasized the efforts that have gone into designing this programme, and the elaborate 3-step selection process which the candidates have gone through for securing IIM Nagpur admission, the press release stated.

In his welcome address, Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur, congratulated the students for securing admission to this programme. He added, “This first batch will be remembered in the history of the institute and Nagpur. The objective of the programme is to equip the participants with managerial skills, leadership skills and entrepreneurship mindset to lead the unknown roads in unborn companies. The lifelong learning and knowledge will help them navigate their career path.”

The inaugural address was delivered by Shri C P Gurnani where he heartily congratulated the students and urged them to become entrepreneur-managers rather than just managers, i.e. use an entrepreneurial mindset to solve business problems. He highlighted the importance of going deep into the analysis for finding more effective solutions and leveraging available data sources for more evidence-based decisions.
