IIM Sambalpur launches MBA in Business Analytics at Delhi Campus

This newly introduced MBA program at IIM Sambalpur Delhi Campus forays into management education with a focus on cutting-edge analytical and technological competencies. The program aims to prepare professionals to tackle complex business challenges and navigate the AI-driven, data-centric world.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur introduced its very first full-time MBA program in Business Analytics at its Delhi campus. This program is designed for candidates who possess a valid high CAT percentile and a STEM academic background, along with one year of relevant professional experience.

A Dual-Degree Collaboration with AIT Thailand

In an exciting development, IIM Sambalpur has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, to offer a dual-degree course. This collaboration aims to provide students with a globally oriented, interdisciplinary education that integrates both MBA and Business Analytics programs. AIT's MBA program has consistently ranked among the top MBA programs in Thailand, with its 2024 ranking standing at #23 in Asia and among the top 200 globally according to the QS Global MBA Rankings.

Preparing Future-Ready Professionals in Business Analytics

This newly introduced MBA program forays into management education with a focus on cutting-edge analytical and technological competencies. The program aims to prepare professionals to tackle complex business challenges and navigate the AI-driven, data-centric world. The dual-degree offering follows the STEM framework—combining Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics with management principles. This approach makes the course a unique offering among Indian business schools, addressing the growing demand for professionals skilled in advanced analytics, big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

Program Structure and Global Opportunities

Under this collaborative program, students will spend their first year at IIM Sambalpur’s Delhi campus. In the second year, they will have the opportunity to study at AIT, Thailand. Upon successful completion, students will be awarded dual degrees with a specialization in Business Analytics. Additionally, they will be granted a one-year extended work visa for Thailand, providing them with the chance to kickstart their international professional careers.

Director’s Vision for Innovation and Global Leadership

Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, "The MBA in Business Analytics marks a significant milestone in IIM Sambalpur's journey. This program not only aligns with India's aspiration to become a global hub for analytics and technology but also prepares our students to excel in a data-driven world. Our Delhi campus will admit 70 students for the new MBA program." He further emphasized that the partnership with AIT strengthens IIM Sambalpur’s global collaborations and supports the institution’s mission of nurturing leaders who embody innovation, integrity, and inclusivity.

Expanding Global Collaborations and Academic Offerings

IIM Sambalpur has already established partnerships offering dual degree programs, such as its MBA in Fintech Management in collaboration with Sorbonne Business School in Paris, and an Executive PhD & DBA Program in collaboration with Bordeaux University School of Management. The addition of this dual-degree MBA in Business Analytics further solidifies IIM Sambalpur’s global academic presence and commitment to providing cutting-edge education to its students.
