IIM-V launches 5-Day Training Program on Public Procurement for CPSE Officers

This training program is designed to address the challenges faced by CPSE officers in the public procurement space. By providing officers with the latest insights into procurement policies and procedures, the program aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in procurement processes across government organizations.

The Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam (IIMV) launched a five-day training program on public procurement for officers of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) under the Procurement Policy Division, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, on Monday. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the skills of CPSE officers in managing and executing public procurement processes efficiently.

Program Inauguration and Welcome Address by  Deepika Gupta

In her opening address, Deepika Gupta, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at IIM Visakhapatnam, warmly welcomed the participants to the training program. She took them through the five-day schedule, outlining the key sessions and activities designed to provide in-depth knowledge of public procurement policies, processes, and best practices. Gupta expressed her appreciation for the participants' commitment and active involvement, which she believed would contribute significantly to the success of the program. She also extended her gratitude to the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, for collaborating with IIM Visakhapatnam to conduct this training.

Importance of Networking and Collaboration in Public Procurement

In his opening remarks, Rajendran Kamalakannan, Senior DGM (Vigilance) at Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, addressed the cohort of participants and emphasized the importance of networking and interactive sessions in enhancing the learning experience. He highlighted how collaboration between CPSE officers from different organizations can foster mutual growth and lead to more effective procurement strategies. Kamalakannan also noted that the program’s focus on interactive learning would help officers build connections and share knowledge that can be applied directly to their roles.
