IIM-Vizag introduces Dual-Degree Programme for Engineering Students

The innovative programme allows engineering students to pursue a one-year diploma in business management from IIM-Vizag alongside their engineering degree, creating a seamless integration of technical and managerial skills.

The Indian Institute of Management, Visakhapatnam (IIM-Vizag) has launched a unique dual-degree programme designed specifically for students of centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) and institutions of national importance (INIs). This innovative programme allows engineering students to pursue a one-year diploma in business management from IIM-Vizag alongside their engineering degree, creating a seamless integration of technical and managerial skills.

Dual-Degree Pathway: Diploma + MBA

The programme offers students the opportunity to complete a Diploma in Business Management during the course of their engineering degree. Upon successfully finishing the diploma, students can opt to extend their studies for an additional year in a hybrid mode to earn a full MBA degree from IIM-Vizag. This dual approach helps students acquire business management expertise while still pursuing their engineering education, effectively saving one year of study time and accelerating their entry into the workforce with a dual qualification.

Collaborations with Leading Institutes

IIM-Vizag has already partnered with several prestigious institutions for this programme, including National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal, NIT Tadepalligudem, IIITDM Kurnool, Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy Visakhapatnam, NIT Manipur, NIT Mizoram, and NIT Agartala. In addition, IIM-Vizag is in the process of finalizing collaborations with more leading institutions, including NIT Meghalaya, NIT Nagaland, NIT Nagpur, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Jalandhar, and NIT Kurukshetra. Formal agreements with these institutes are expected in the coming weeks, further expanding the reach of this programme.

Techno-Managerial Skills to Meet Industry Demands

No CAT Required for MBA

With the dual-degree pathway, students can directly transition into their MBA studies after completing the diploma, streamlining their educational journey.
