IIMK to offer full-time MBA in Liberal Studies and Management

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode or IIMK has introduced a new programme - Masters in Business Administration in Liberal Studies and Management (MBA-LSM). By launching the programme, IIMK has become the first IIM to offer Liberal Studies and Management as a two-year full programme. Candidates can apply till March 31, 2020 for the programme on the official website of IIMK. In the second year of the programme, it has a module on International and Rural immersion that the students need to involve in. Another unique feature of the course is the Master's thesis in the second year. MBA-LSM is a two-year (six term) programme that provides detailed knowledge in terms of lessons from liberal studies and core management principles in the first year.  In the second year, this is followed by advanced courses and electives. IIM Kozhikode will also offer aid for internship and final placements.

Eligibility Criteria

Those candidates willing to apply for the programme should have a duly recognised bachelor's degree or post-graduate in any discipline with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Apart from this, they must hold a valid score in CAT 2019 or GRE or GMAT. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum mandated marks is allowed to SC/ST/PWD candidates. Those candidates are also eligible to apply who are appearing for the final year of Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results. IIM Kozhikode will implement a three-stage selection process for the admissions to MBA-LSM:  Stage-I (Online application), Stage-II (Shortlisting of the candidates) and Stage-III (Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview). 

This two-year full-time MBA program is designed to integrate and equip participants to pursue careers in managerial roles in marketing, human resource management, media, social enterprise, hospitality, healthcare or other people facing roles.
