Harvard Business School Global Case Competition 2024: Students from the Gurugram-based Masters’ Union, have clinched the second position in the 9th edition of the Global Case Competition hosted at Harvard Business School. Going head-to-head with esteemed institutions worldwide, including MIT Sloan, Stanford, Columbia Business School, HEC Paris, and UC Berkeley, the students displayed exceptional problem-solving prowess and ingenuity, earning them a coveted spot among the finalists.

The Global Case Competition at Harvard Business School, known as the epitome of student-led case competitions globally, is jointly organized by the International Finance Student Association (IFSA) Network and the Harvard GSAS Business Club. It aims to foster a vibrant community of graduate students exploring career opportunities in the business sphere. Since its inception in 2016, the competition has served as a beacon, bringing together the brightest minds in economics and finance from around the world, offering unparalleled avenues for collaboration and intellectual enrichment.

This year's competition presented participants with a multifaceted three-week mergers and acquisitions case study revolving around the potential acquisition of Equinix by IBM. The students meticulously analyzed financial and non-financial synergies between the entities, identifying a misalignment in proposed strategies. Their innovative solution aimed at enhancing IBM's global presence in digital infrastructure and cloud services, showcasing their analytical prowess and out-of-the-box thinking.
Rigorous Evaluation Process
The competition spanned three rigorous rounds, including a comprehensive 75-page presentation, a 10-minute video presentation, and a final round featuring a grueling 20-minute question-and-answer session with a distinguished jury comprising global experts. Notable panelists included Dr. Amir Rezvani from Harvard Business School, Asya Potemkina from HSBC Private Bank, and Danijel Lipovac from REWE Group.
