Shobha Das Joins Ahmedabad University as Dean of Amrut Mody School of Management

Professor Shobha Das has been appointed as the new Dean of the Amrut Mody School of Management at Ahmedabad University. She will lead a rising school known for its young faculty and innovative business programs.

Professor Shobha Das has taken on the role of Dean at the Amrut Mody School of Management, Ahmedabad University. Professor Das, formerly of the IFMR Graduate School of Business, Krea University, where she served as Dean, Professor, PhD Committee Chair, and Strategy Area Chair, brings a wealth of experience spanning three decades. Her career includes notable positions at Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Qatar University.

After completing her PhD in Strategic Management and Organisation from the University of Minnesota, USA, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and a BA (Honours) in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi, she was also awarded the National Talent Search Scholarship for her secondary, undergraduate, and postgraduate education.

Professor Das, trained in the case method at Harvard Business School through the PCMPCL programme, has extensive experience teaching Undergraduate, Master, Doctoral, and Executive courses. She specialises in Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Innovation, and Technology, and has been a pioneer in incorporating simulations into her teaching across all the universities where she has served.

Professor Das has published journals including the Academy of Management Review, Management Science, and Strategic Management Journal. Professor Pankaj Chandra, Vice Chancellor, said that Professor Das, with her strong strategic perspective and global experience will lead the Amrut Mody School of Management into its next era, especially when technology and sustainability are reshaping business education and its research agenda.
