XLRI conferred the Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal for Industrial and Social Peace Award to N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons. Dr. Sanjay Patro, Dean (Academics) bestowed Medals for Academic Excellence to 14 deserving students. Diploma degrees were awarded to 551 graduating students.
On the day of the 68th Annual Convocation, XLRI also honoured 4 faculty members for their research papers published in the prestigious A* Category.
TV Narendran, CEO & MD, Tata Steel & Chairman, XLRI addressed the crowd stating, βXLRI is the first management school set up in the country and today it is celebrating its 75 years of existence. Our competition has changed since 1949, there are many other management institutes in the country today. At XLRI, we are on a constant quest to deliver better to our students. There is also an expectation that over the next 20-30 years, it is going to be an India-China moment, keeping in mind the kind of progress that India is making. I would also take a moment to thank the Jesuits for their immense leadership and contribution in setting up this Institute and making it a success today. Congratulations to the graduating batch.β
