FAIMA has requested the aspirants to keep on studying and not waste much time as the final decision has to be taken by the ministry.

NEET-PG exam is scheduled to be held on May 21

As many as 85 percent of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate), NEET-PG aspirants are in favour of Postponement of the exam. NEET-PG aspirants are demanding exam to be postponed by two months.

A Twitter poll conducted by Dr. Rohan Krishnan, National President of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) Doctors Association has revealed that 85 percent of the NEET-PG aspirants are demanding its postponement. The association has decided to establish a dialogue with the Health Ministry regarding the same.

However, it has requested the aspirants to keep on studying and not waste much time as the final decision has to be taken by the ministry.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate) exam is scheduled to be held on May 21 for admission to various postgraduate courses like Doctor of Medicine, Master of Surgery and diploma courses at various government and private medical colleges in the country.

The NEET- PG aspirants are demanding postponement of the examination as the counselling for 2021 is yet to get over. On the other hand, more than 5000 medical interns are yet to complete their internship thus making them ineligible for the entrance test.

Last week, Delhi Medical Association (DMA) has sent a letter to Mansukh Mandavlya, Union Health Minister regarding the postponement of NEET PG 2022. The NEET-PG aspirants have also written to the President of India demanding its postponement.

The aspirants have stated that as many as 5000 interns from Kerala, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand will be ineligible to write the NEET PG due to a delay in the completion of their internship owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They are also claiming that the NEET-PG 2021 is likely to end on May 3 after a fresh mop-up round, thus leaving little time for aspirants to prepare. The NEET PG 2021 AIQ is expected to end on May 3 after holding a fresh mop-up round, state mop-up rounds and stray vacancy rounds. There will be insufficient time for the remaining PG aspirants to prepare for the NEET PG 2022 exam, which is expected to be held on May 21.

The students are demanding NEET PG 2022 exams be postponed by two months to provide sufficient time for the students to prepare for the exams and also provide an opportunity for the serving interns from the aforementioned five states to appear for the exam this year itself.
