AIIMS Raipur approves District Hospital in Chattisgarh to test SARS CoV-2 samples of patients

T S Singhdeo, the Cabinet Minister in Chhattisgarh Government has confirmed that the virology lab in District Hospital, Durg in Chhattisgarh has received approval from AIIMS, Raipur to start testing for SARS CoV-2 samples of patients.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur has recently approved the virology lab in District Hospital, Durg in Chhattisgarh to conduct testing for SARS CoV-2 samples of patients.

T S Singhdeo, the Cabinet Minister in Chhattisgarh Government has confirmed this and tweeted, "With immense satisfaction, I would like to inform you that the virology lab in District Hospital, Durg in Chhattisgarh has received approval from AIIMS, Raipur to start testing for SARS CoV-2 samples of patients. It will be an asset to the state in our fight against COVID."

The AIIMS Raipur Letter Of Approval reads, "AIIMS Raipur was given the responsibility of mentoring medical colleges of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. In line with this, Virology Laboratory, District Hospital, Durg (D.G.) has developed a functional BSL-2 RT-PCR laboratory, after regular guidance provided through teleconferencing, emails and designing floor map of the laboratory."

"After reviewing the following - list of manpower with qualifications, list of instruments, equipment and consumables, facilities performa, pictures and videos of the newly established laboratory and satisfactory results of the proficiency test panel, it is decided to approve the BSL-2 RT-PCR laboratory at District Hospital, Durg (C.G.) to start testing for SARS Cov-2 by RT-PCR (open system) in patient's samples.
