AIJNSA submits letter to MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan for second attempt of NEET UG

All India JEE NEET Students Association (AIJNSA) wrote a letter to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to recommend NEET UG twice a year, starting from this year onwards.

Earlier, the association had sent a letter to the union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya requesting him to allow conducting the NEET UG exam twice a year.

The letter to Shivraj Singh Chouhan cited the same reasons for demanding a second attempt of the NEET UG examination. AIJNSA said that the number of aspirants for the exam is increasing every year and the seats are not increasing parallelly. It made the exam highly competitive and deserving candidates are not getting the desired seats. Hence, the association said that conducting NEET UG twice a year will provide a fair chance to deserving candidates. Moreover, this step will reduce the stress level of the candidates.

The letter also highlighted the increasing number of suicide cases of NEET UG aspirants. AIJSNA had also submitted a representation to National Human Rights Commission India (NHRC) highlighting the growing concerns about the mental stress faced by NEET-UG aspirants in India. Also, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) forwarded representation to National Testing Agency to request the agency to conduct NEET UG twice a year.
