After NMC replied to the All India Student's Union (AISU) on the request to conduct NEET UG twice a year and said that there is no possibility for this, now AIJNSA has written to the Director of NMC to seek more clarity on their stand.

AIJNSA writes to NMC for clarification on NEET UG twice year

All India JEE NEET Students Association (AIJNSA) has written to the Director of the National Medical Commission to seek clarity on the stand of the commission that they cannot conduct the NEET UG exam twice a year.

"I would like to understand the relationship between conducting NEET UG twice a year and the issue of limited seats in the counselling process. Similar to the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), which is conducted twice a year, the number of seats available for admission to engineering colleges remains limited. Could you kindly explain why NEET UG cannot follow a similar pattern of conducting the exam twice a year while adhering to the constraints of seat availability in the counselling process," reads AIJNSA's letter.

The association has also asked the commission that if a student is unable to appear for the NEET UG exam due to unforeseen circumstances such as health issues, who will be responsible for the fact that his/her entire academic year is going to be wasted and their educational progress will get jeopardized?

In its letter to AISU, NMC said that as the MBBS seats got filled during the one counselling and no seat remains vacant which needs conducting the NEET UG exam twice a year and also conducting the exam needs a huge amount of money and resources that will put an undue burden on the government exchequer.
