AISU urges prompt action for better sanitation & maintenance facilities at GMC Srikakulam All India Student's Union (AISU) has submitted a representation to the District Magistrate & Collector Srikakulam, highlighting the issues of lack in sanitation & maintenance facilities at Government Medical College Srikakulam.

The issue highlighted in the letter to the District Magistrate and Collector is - there is no proper drinking water facility on the campus and hostels as the water disposal ports/machines are not available in the hostel. Basic things like proper hygiene and good drinking water are necessary for the students to avoid health issues, reads AISU's letter.

The association said that they spoke to the students of the medical college and came to know that the students have conveyed these problems to the principal of the GMC many times and appealed to the principal to resolve the issues. Even the association itself also talked to him and the principal assured AISU that he will resolve the issues soon. However, no action is taken so far in this regard and hence now the association approached the District Magistrate & Collector Srikakulam.

"We seek your assistance in addressing these urgent and essential issues. We believe that you will take appropriate action to resolve the issues and ensure that the students have access to good drinking water and proper sanitation facilities. We look forward to your positive and prompt response," read the letter.
