Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma launches six new healthcare projects

During a programme held at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) auditorium in Guwahati, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the projects in the presence of Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta, read here for more updates.

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated six new projects of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Assam and the Department of Medical Education and Research in Guwahati on Monday.

Assam CM inaugurated the projects in the presence of Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta during a programme held at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) auditorium in Guwahati.

"Govt of Assam, under the leadership of HCM Dr @himantabiswa , has laid special emphasis on strengthening healthcare & has invested 6% of its GDP in the sector," tweeted Chief Minister Assam.

"Tech enabled ICU is a powerful way to augment critical health care in remote areas and SAVE precious lives in emergencies. Today, we dedicated this facility to the people across 23 district hospitals in Assam," reads a tweet by the CM.

HCM dedicated six new healthcare projects to the people of Assam. The Assam Chief Minister inaugurated 10 bedded ICU project; the National Emergency Life Support Skill Centre, GMCH; Molecular Oncology Lab, State Cancer Institute, GMCH; Multidisciplinary Research Unit, GMCH; 32 Slice CT Scan machine; Asset Management Portal for Medical Colleges. 

"The ICU project, a state-of-the-art laboratory at Guwahati Medical College Hospital and multipurpose research project were officially dedicated to the public today as an important step towards improving health services in the state," CM Biswa Sarma said.
