Haryana Government has ordered the closure of BRS Dental College and General Hospital, Panchkula.

Following the directions of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the state government of Haryana has ordered the closure of BRS Dental College and General Hospital, Panchkula.

The college was affiliated to Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. It was one of the major dental education institutes in the state but the college was facing a difficult time due to the tussle going on between the management and teaching faculties allegedly over non-payment of salaries. 

The official notice of Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) Haryana reads, "It is for the information of all concerned that Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare vide order dated 20.09.2021 has accorded approval for withdrawal of recognition under Section 16(A) of Dentist Act, 1948 & stoppage of admissions to both UG/PG Courses under Section 11(A) of DCI Regulation, 2006, and closure down of BRS Dental College and General Hospital Sultanpur, Barwala, Panchkula, Haryana."

As per this notification, BRS Dental College and General Hospital, Panchkula will no longer take admissions to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) courses. The official notification also stated that the studies of the existing students of BDS and MDS courses will not be impacted by this as the students would be adjusted in other recognized institutions. DMER has recommended that candidates must regularly check the official websites - https://dmer.haryana.gov.in/ and www.uhsr.ac.in for further updates.
