Centre to inspect AIIMS Jammu before inauguration by PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate AIIMS Jammu soon along with other ongoing mega development projects in Jammu and Kashmir before the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls.

As per reports, the government of India will send a team of experts to AIIMS Jammu to inspect the new medical college before its inauguration and the team will send the inspection report to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the newly built AIIMS Jammu along with other ongoing mega-development projects in Jammu and Kashmir before the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls. 

The inspection is a crucial step in determining the preparedness of the AIIMS facility and the decision to unveil the AIIMS will be based on the report of experts.

“The expert team of the GoI, after thoroughly inspecting the AIIMS at Vijaipur, will submit the complete report regarding our preparedness, to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO),” the Director of Vijaipur AIIMS, as reported by Rising Kashmir.

On January 1, 2024, the Union Minister of State (I/C) for Science and Technology and Prime Minister’s Office; Personnel, Public Grievance and Pensioners; Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space Dr Jitendra Singh, during an on-the-spot visit to the project AIIMS Jammu, issued instructions to the AIIMS administration and the CPWD to complete the AIIMS project as early as possible, so that the formal inauguration could be carried out at the earliest. The Minister asked them to double their efforts and carry out the work round the clock in double shifts.
